  Innovation: IDA Ireland offers collaborative funding and tax incentives (e.g. 25% tax credit) to eligible R&D investments. Enterprise applications: The different types and purposes

 Enterprise applications are fundamental in the behind the scenes, operational side of businesses. Some examples of enterprise applications are, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems, as well as many more different types of enterprise applications. This blog will outline some examples of how organisations utilise these enterprise applications in their business operations.


Salesforce - Formula 1 & McLaren Racing

Salesforce provides CRM software to organisations, that they can
use to manage interactions with customers and potential customers in a streamlined process. In recent years, Salesforce has become a global partner to Formula 1 and some of the teams, such as McLaren Racing. While the obvious objective of Formula 1 teams is to win races and championship, so to win as much money as possible to develop their next car, a perhaps new point of contingence is the attraction and retention of fans. 5-7 years ago, Formula 1's viewing numbers and people attending races were down massively but with the introduction of Netflix's 'Drive to Survive' and clever partnerships and an expansion into the US market, Formula 1 and its team are aware that one of their biggest priorities using systems such as Salesforce to keep track of their fan and sponsor interactions and learning the habits and interests of their customers.



Sage - Six Nations & Women's Six Nations

Sage, an accounting firm, provides ERP services to the Six Nations in the area of data analytics specifically in relation to player and match data. Sage tracks the movement of players and the ball throughout the game, they can provide insights such as distance for a conversion, whether the ball was in or out, or, how many metres a players ran. These snippets are great for fans who love the data side of their favourite sport and teams but this information is also incredibly informative to the teams themselves, coaches and players can analyse and spot areas that need improving as a result of this data. SAP - Audi

Audi have partnered with SAP, to use their software in Audi's new digital factory in Heilbronn, Germany. The factory in Heilbronn will be the future of automotive factories with robotics, AI and machine learning leading the charge in automating the process of building Audi's fleet of cars. SAP's ERP software will help in connecting these machines and being able to monitor the logistics of the assembly and clearly display the status of different materials in the supply chain.
